Is your Naples Marketing making money or costing you money?

Posted under Internet Marketing by on Thursday 28 May 2009 at 4:29 pm

I am friends with or have clients that spend a lot of their time and money on Naples Marketing of their business. Never before has it been more essential to understand if your Naples Marketing is making you money or costing you. If you have not implemented ways of measuring your ROI in regards to your Naples marketing, don’t you think it’s about time you did that? ROI = Return on Investment

Every lead that comes in, every new client…do you know where they came from? I recently read a story on how a local Pizza shop tracked everything they did and through a promotion they determined that in one day, 15% of all of their business came in from a coupon code they posted on twitter. Are you using Twitter as part of your Naples marketing? Twitter is a totally free mini-blog/status site that is very efficient for delivering coupon codes or specials or just small updates about your personal or business matters.

One of our clients owns an air conditioning company and last year spent $1800 on pay per click advertising and attributes that to over $200,000 in business! Now that is a return on investment! Are you using pay per click as part of your Naples marketing?

Whatever you decide to do for your Naples marketing, make sure you track all of your leads and if you are not getting enough leads…do something differently!

SWFL Twitter guy on Twittering for local business

Posted under Internet Marketing by on Tuesday 26 May 2009 at 9:17 pm

I am a SWFL Twitter guy and think the application has a lot of use for local business. I recently came across this article

http://adage.com/digital/article?article_id=136662 and highly recommend you read it as it is a great example on how local business should use the application. With Twitter it is solely what the community wants, not what you want to get across and so long as you treat it as WIIFTOTP (what’s in it for the other twitter people…little long, I know) then you may have a winning strategy with being a user and a SWFL Twitter business.

3 Tips to help your Naples Internet Marketing

Posted under Internet Marketing by on Monday 25 May 2009 at 2:47 pm

As a SWFL Internet Marketer, I see a lot of companies struggling to put together the pieces for their Naples Internet Marketing. Right now if you are a business in Naples, having a Naples Internet Marketing presence is critical. As I talk to companies around SWFL I am finding that those that are capturing market share are doing fine. The top 1 or 2 spots in almost every niche is either thriving or at least matching last year, however, they are doing it in a different way. Here are 3 Tips to help your Naples Internet Marketing.

1) Having a website is a no-brainer, that is not the tip. But have your website setup so Google and other search engines can find it. You can do this by having a nice infrastructure for your site including a sitemap and standard pages within your website including the following:
About us
Contact us
Privacy Policy or Terms of service

2) Use social media appropriately. The top 3 social media sites that may help your Naples Internet Marketing is Linkedin, Facebook and Twitter. Do NOT use the name of your business as your account names though as that is seen as way too salesy for these types of sites. Your goal with these sites are to make friends, not sales. Post periodically the things you are doing for clients or personally to gain attention and possible interest. You do not have to spend a lot of time each day with these sites but always respond to people that comment or message you.

3) Consider using geo-targeted pay per click for your Naples Internet Marketing. You are in an uphill battle trying to be found in Google for common terms such as real estate, painting or whatever your niche is but you can show up for those words if you use geo-targeted pay per click marketing. You can start this out with Google and possibly tap into Yahoo and MSN if you would like. Our site has more resources on this type of marketing if you would like to check them out.

I hope these 3 tips help your Naples Internet Marketing!

SWFL Internet Marketing Company explains the most common advertising lie

Posted under Internet Marketing by on Wednesday 20 May 2009 at 11:14 pm

As co-owner of SWFL Internet Marketing Company, Unlimited Potential Marketing, I get the pleasure to work with a lot of local businesses out there that are wondering what the heck to do with today’s marketing and their marketing dollar. As a SWFL Internet Marketing Company owner but also a trained affiliate marketer as well, I know there are many different marketing options thrown at small businesses every day and a lot of them make absolutely no sense as far as return on investment. The biggest lie I have heard is the whole idea and concept of branding. Branding has to be, in my opinion, the largest lie in the marketing and advertising industry. I know what you are thinking, you are thinking, Ray, you are just saying that and trying to get our attention. Trust me, I am not. Branding is the hardest possible think to calculate your return on investment and think about this…JUST BECAUSE PEOPLE REMEMBER YOUR ADS DO NOT DIRECTLY TRANSLATE TO THEM BUYING. I believe in branding, yes, but only if the cost is LOW. Most advertising that is thrown at small businesses is in the form of branding and unless you have the marketing budget of Coca Cola, be thrifty with that marketing dollar!

So what do you do instead? Ever hear of Pay per click internet advertising? Where you only pay for performance? Here is a short video I did on the subject

Fort Myers Internet Marketing Company owner talks about Google Quality Score

Posted under Internet Marketing by on Monday 18 May 2009 at 2:34 pm

As a Fort Myers Internet Marketing Company owner I get to talk to a lot of small businesses trying to improve their internet presence. Some of the smarter ones decide to use pay per click, usually via Google Adwords. Not only am I a Fort Myers Internet Marketing Company owner but I am also a marketer for my own products online so I bring a little different slant usually when it comes to talking to someone about their marketing. Today I will be talking about Google’s Quality Score when it pertains to pay per click.

Quality score is how Google feels you relate to the keywords you are targeting. Here are some easy steps to automatically improve your quality score with Google.

1) Have a video on the page that your google ad directs them to. It does not have to be lengthy but upload the video to youtube (owned by Google) and use the keywords you want to target in the description and in the tags. Then embed that video into your landing page.
2) Have at least 5 pages on that landing site. Have a Terms of Use, Contact Us, Privacy Policy and have a Home button on each page. You also want to submit a sitemap to Google. These things will make Google believe you have a real website versus just some sales page.
3) Use the keywords you want to target within your page as much as you can.

Following the advice of a Fort Myers Internet Marketing Company owner MAY greatly increase your clicks!!! Hope this helps!

As a Fort Myers Internet Marketing Company owner I get to work with a lot of great people and cool businesses. As most of you know, there is no recession on the Internet and being a Fort Myers Internet Marketing Company owner allows me to show local businesses exactly how to increase their business through effective internet marketing. I am currently up in Chicago hanging with my good friend Dr Jake Caputo. Dr Jake is a PHD in metaphysics and is quite an interesting guy to say the least! I have even been able to offer some advice to Dr Jake for his business that I often use as a Fort Myers Internet Marketing Company owner. It is not that hard to do really well with a local business and Internet marketing, it is just about having the right infrastructure and being diligent with your website and advertising.

Questions to ask when searching for a Fort Myers Internet Marketing Company

Posted under Internet Marketing by on Thursday 14 May 2009 at 3:42 pm

OK, there are certainly some things to watch out for when searching for a Fort Myers Internet Marketing Company. Here are some of the things to watch out for.

How does the website of the Fort Myers Internet Marketing Company look? When you search on, for example, Fort Myers Internet Marketing Company, do they come up?
Are they making promises? When they promise you that you will be on the front page of Google, you want to be careful. If they say this without knowing what keywords you want to target, you really want to be careful as that answer is either playing on your ignorance or they don’t know what they are talking about.
Do they understand and employ PPC (pay per click)? If they are strongly against it, it probably means they do not understand it and as a local business, that could be a wealth of traffic and business you miss out on. Do they tout themselves as an SEO firm? Ask them how long to see results and if they tell you that SEO is super quick and easy, you may want to consider the fact that it usually is not, again, if they answer this without knowing what keywords you want to target, they are either playing off your ignorance or they are just saying whatever they think you want to hear.

Those questions should give you a good baseline of what to ask of a Fort Myers Internet Marketing Company to ensure you make a good decision!

Lee County Yellow Pages or Lee County Internet Marketing?

Posted under General Info by on Monday 11 May 2009 at 8:29 pm

So today we are discussing which one is better the Lee County Yellow Pages or Lee County Internet Marketing? When considering the differences, it may come down to what type of business you have but, an awareness of both is essential to being a top performer in your business niche. Here are some things to consider when comparing Lee County Yellow Pages to Lee County Internet Marketing.

Lee County Yellow Pages
1. More people are using the Internet first to find resources than the lee county yellow pages
2. The Lee county yellow pages are still pretty pricey
3. The lee county yellow pages are NOT based on performance. Meaning, you buy the ad, they wish you the best and try to upgrade you to a more expensive ad next year.

Lee County Internet Marketing
1. You can set this up to be only pay per click.
2. You can control how much you spend per day, per month, and can ratchet it up or down at your convenience.
3. Lee County Internet Marketing is great as the competition for your niche is probably not that tough versus a bigger county.

Hope that helps in deciding between Lee County Yellow Pages or Lee County Internet Marketing.

Are you STILL advertising in the Lee County Yellow Pages? Really?

Posted under Internet Marketing by on Sunday 10 May 2009 at 12:01 pm

The market in SWFL has been a relentless one the past few years for a lot of business owners. They say insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. I think this phrase really pertains to those small business owners I see still spending large amounts of money on the Lee County Yellow Pages. Remember 10 years ago, the Lee County yellow pages were great! Not too many people were on the Internet, most of us had never heard of Google, and we would pull out that 10 pound book and flip through the lee county yellow pages to find what we were looking for…and then Google came along and made all of our lives so much easier! As you are reading this, find a Fort Myers Florist…OK, so statistics say that 1 out of 257 of you just got up and went to find your dusty copy of the Lee county yellow pages while the rest of you went to google and punched in “Fort Myers Florist”. So, now the question is, are you STILL advertising in the Lee County Yellow Pages? Really?

Make it an awesome day!
